Ronald Reagan Early Life History & Education
Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911. Due to Reagan Dutchman like appearance & haircut, his father gave him nickname as “Dutch”. Through out his youth period, he had got the same “Dutch” as his nickname. Reagan attended Dixon High School where he had got special interest in acting, sports, & telling stories. Reagan became member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon when he attended Eureka College, (Discipline oriented Liberal Arts School). He studied Economics & Sociology. He was described as a different student. Ronald was graduated in Economics & Sociology where he got C grade. The best thing about him during his education period was that he was “Jack of all Trades”. He was good at acting, sports, & politics. Ronald was also the student body president where he run a strike against college president when he had tried to cut the back the faculty. He was member of college Football team & captain of swimming team.
After graduating from Eureka college, he drove to lowa. He starting announcing jobs at different stations. Reagan had completed 14 home study army extension courses. He was then listed in the army where he was second lieutenant in the officers reserved crops. Reagan was called on duty on April 18, 1942. The poor eye sight has restrict his army career to a very limited amount of time. In 1943, Ronald Reagan was appointed as first lieutenant which is a big life achievement in his life history. He was then sent to provisional task force show unit. On his arrival, he was promoted to Captain on July 22, 1943. Reagan was ordered to do duty in New York City in order to participate in the opening of sixth War Loan Drive. In November, 1944, he was assigned in First Motion Picture Unit where he remained till end of World War II.

In 1966, Reagan competed for the Governor of California & beat Edmund G. Brown by a very huge margin. He was reelected Governor in 1970. He approved tax hikes in order to balance the budge. During his second term, he enacted major reform of welfare system. In Ronald Reagan governorship, the budget of California was surplus which is a big accomplishment for him.

Reagan did not get chance to compete for Presidency elections in 1976 yet he got chance in 1980 & he won those Presidency elections by beating Jimmy Carter (39th US President). Till then, Reagan was the oldest person to be select as President of US with age of 69. Now, Donald Trump has passed him with age of 70. Again in 1984, Reagan won Presidency elections by getting 57% votes. He won 49 out of 50 states & got 525 electoral votes.

During Jimmy Carter Presidency tenure, military was diminished but Reagan had reversed that by building armed forces. He adopted the Peace through strength policy by reviving the B-1 bomber that was cancelled by Jimmy Carter. The defense spending were increased by 40%.
